While some people live for precision that would make an IRS agent weep I am a lover of the wonky, the off balanced, the creatively free. Perfection and symmetry actually makes me itch like a nude camper after an encounter with poison ivy~ It is not that I don’t appreciate the work it takes to achieve that sort of precision, it’s just not for me. I think that is one of the most freeing aspects of quilting today… there is something for everyone!
Today I share with you some of my favorite wonky links, projects and books.
For those looking to free up your quilting a bit I would highly suggest either of the books by Gwen Marston for the quintessential primer of cutting loose with your fabric.
I am also in love with the following wonky tutorials:
Tall Grass Prairie has it all going on when it comes to the Wonky Log Cabin Block
The Silly BooDilly rocks her wonky groove with some BadAss wonky stars
The Nobel Wife gives us a Wonky house to make you smile all day long
How about some wonky triangles?
Need a little more structure but want a little wonk look at this technique from Why Not Sew for some wonky flying geese.
Have fun.. be wonky!
