Ok kids, here it is… I have made minor adjustments over time but this is the mask you see in my photo here and the ones you see me wearing online.
Will it fit everybody… no. But it will fit a lot of women and teen girls and younger boys. As a rule most guys need a bigger mask. People with really large noses, need more “hook” to the top of the mask and those with beard need more bottom to their masks but this is a nice all around mask that fits me and a lot of people I have made it for.
All this to say.. YOUR MILEAGE MIGHT VARY so don’t bitch at me if it does not fit everyone you know.
This is NOT a professional pattern in the least, it came from my sketches and personal modifications. Please note the words having to do with what size it should be when it prints and make sure to set your printer to PRINT ACTUAL SIZE or who the hell knows what you will get.
I will be uploading a video about how I sew the mask in the next few days but honestly if you have any amount of sewing ability you should be able to figure this out. The key to a sturdy mask that lasts are these things: ( Click on image to download and print)
- Pre-wash and dry your fabric on HOT.. do the worst to it now so you know how it will hold up.
- Serge or double stitch ALL THE SEAMS. YES, double stitching is a real bitch but your reputation is on the line here as well as people’s lives.. take the time to do a great job. At the very least use a very small stitch length!
- Top stitch the mask… this not only looks professional it makes the mask fit better and last longer.
- Reinforce the tie connections, these things are going to be getting a lot of use.
